Women for Progress, 2020 Update

The world is on fire and I know we all want to DO something, but the question is what? WFP is going to continue to do what we have always done since the beginning of the Trump administration. We are going to build community, educate, and find meaningful ways to be active with our mission partners. Whether it is racial justice, gender equality, environmental protections or gun violence prevention – we are listening, trying to learn more, raise awareness, and be allies.

On Wednesday, 6/24 at 7:30 PM we are hosting a discussion about implicit bias with one of our favorite authors, Dolly Chugh. Her book, The Person You Mean to Be was a jumping off for some of us last year – we are hoping more of you will buy the book, read it, and join us for the Zoom Event.

In the coming days we will reach out about contributing to organizations that support the work of racial justice. Please stay tuned.

Stay safe, use your voice and reach out with any comments or suggestions.
With gratitude,
Erin Chung
Executive Director, Women for Progress

Join us on June 24th at 7:30pm for a discussion on The Person YOU Mean to Be, How Good People Fight Bias, with acclaimed author & educator Dolly Chugh.

Dr. Chugh is the author of The Person YOU Mean to Be and is a Harvard-educated, award-winning social psychologist at the NYU Stern School of Business. She is an expert on unconscious biases and the psychology of good people. REGISTER HERE.

It’s not enough to just talk the anti-racist talk; we also have to walk the walk. We have to put our money where our mouth is – literally! That’s why we’re purchasing our copies of “The Person You Mean to Be” from Source of Knowledge, a Black-owned bookstore in Newark. Check out their website: https://bit.ly/2MANSo3. If you prefer to order on-line, The Lit. Bar is another Black-owned bookstore that gives you that option.

If you do not have time to read the book before this event, please at least watch Dr. Chugh’s Ted Talk Here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2cixaL9H3U
Once registered you will receive the Zoom link to the event.

The New Jersey Primary is on Tuesday July 7th. Make sure your voter registration is up to date here: AM I READY TO VOTE?

Thank you for your commitment.
