Mary is the Director of Social Media and Co-Chair of the Equality for All committee for WFP. As a queer, disabled person they bring their own experiences standing up for their rights and others. A lifelong Bergen County resident, Mary’s political action started in the 4th grade when they surprised their teachers by standing up for Afghanistan and developed an early opposition to former President George W. Bush.
Over the years Mary has grown as an activist, advocating for racial justice, LGBTQ rights, gun control and prison reform, regularly demonstrating for these causes at marches and rallies. They have experience volunteering for Democratic candidates for the past 10 years. For a day job they keep busy as a nanny and freelance florist, requiring a certain kind of resourcefulness that they are excited to apply to her work with Women for Progress.
